Teen pregnancy is an important issue in country. There are health risks for the baby and children born from teenage mothers. Now day’s mostly teenage girls are suffering from unwanted pregnancy and cause health, social, and emotional problems. Women who become pregnant during their teens have an increased risk for complications, such as premature labor and socioeconomic consequences as well.
Teenage pregnancy rates in country are going high and high and approximately 1 million teenage girls become pregnant each year in the United States. About 13% of U.S. births involve teen mothers and about 25% of teenage girls who give birth have another baby within 2 years. Young girls don’t know the harmful effects of teen pregnancy and increase high risk for their health.
Health risks to the baby and teenage mothers: -
Teenage mothers gain adequate weight during their pregnancy. Baby also gets childhood disorders and a higher rate of infant mortality. There are many complications happen with teenage mothers and their babies such as bleeding in brain, respiratory distress syndrome, and intestinal problems. Mostly young girls are in the hands of bad habits such as consuming drugs and alcohol, smoke cigarettes, which can cause severe health problems to their babies. Children born from adolescent girl gain many experiences of health risks socially, emotionally and physically.
Teenage mothers are suffering mainly from social problems such as those girls who are not married and having baby then this is great issue in society and cause the mother many problems,. If the girl is married and have baby then she has not to suffer from social problems. But teen pregnancy is severe for mother and baby in both conditions. Babies born from young mothers are less likely to receive proper nutrition, health care and cognitive and social stimulation.
The most important thing for teenage pregnancy mothers that they mostly drop out from their high school and they do not study more. Life may be difficult for a teenage mother and her child. Only 40 percent of teenagers who have children before age 18 go on to graduate from high school, compared to 75 percent of teens from similar social and economic backgrounds who do not give birth until ages 20 or 21.teen pregnancy is very devastating problem in country.
