My name is Vanessa and I am the mother of two sons. Gary and Jim have only one year of gap and they seem to be of the same age. But their behavior is different. Gary, the elder brother, started having major behavioral problems at home. In the beginning he used to fight with his brother but as a mother, it was very difficult for me to scold only one of them. As they grew up, theses fights started being ugly and sometimes they were out of my control.
Gary was little stronger than Jim and one day he had hit him hard on the face. This is when I came in between and got hit too. I could not understand from where this anger was coming but I could feel intensity. The atmosphere at home was bad and had become very morose. I had asked to both of tem to stop playing with each other. The house was calm.
One day a hot wind passed by and enraged Gary. He had a girlfriend in school. And they were very close to each other. But on that day, they had a tiff on some matter and he had hit her. The phone rang; I reached school in few minutes. Gary was rusticated for a month. This incident obliged me to think about him. I read few articles online about troubled teens and I realized that he was in need of some help. And I could understand why the atmosphere was getting so dark at home.
Gary was enrolled into a troubled teen school. And he was working on controlling his feelings. But on the other side Jim was undergoing a depression. He had stopped eating, playing, talk. He had become numb. I was devastated. I had no money and energy to send my other teen to a troubled teen school. I took him to a troubled teen counselor. After few sessions, he was back to normal.
The situation got fixed after two years of monstrous fights!
